زيارة خبراء مياه أمريكيين إلى تونس لمناقشة الممارسات الفضلى الأمريكية والإقليمية

بفضل برنامج السفراء لخبراء المياه الذي تقدمه وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية بالتعاون مع وزارة الشؤون الداخلية الامريكية، سهّلت سفارة الولايات المتحدة بتونس زيارة خبراء مياه أمريكيين إلى تونس لمناقشة الممارسات الفضلى الأمريكية والإقليمية لإعادة تدوير المياه لضمان الإستفادة الكاملة من هذا المورد الثمين والتكيف مع ارتفاع درجة حرارة المناخ. في هذا الإطار قاد الاخصائيون من وزارة الطاقة ومن الوكالة الأمريكية للتنمية الدولية مناقشات حيوية لتبادل الخبرات. وبالتنسيق مع وزارة البيئة والديوان الوطني للتطهير ووزارة الفلاحة وغيرها، تمكّن هؤلاء المختصين التقنيين من الإطلاع على بعض التحديات والفرص المتعلقة بكيفية زيادة إعادة تدوير المياه في تونس وذلك من خلال زيارات إلى مرافق مياه الصرف الصحي والمزارع المسقية التي تستخدم المياه المعالجة والمعاد تدويرها والتحدث مع الجهات المعنية في خمس وزارات مختلفة وثلاث مجموعات من كبار الباحثين

.Maximizing innovation and non-conventional water are important ingredients for a water-secure future! Thanks to the joint Department of State-Department of Interior Ambassador’s Water Experts Program, the U.S. Embassy Tunis facilitated a visit from two U.S. government water experts to Tunisia to discuss U.S. and regional best practices on the reuse of treated wastewater (WATER RECYCLING!). Water recycling helps us take full advantage of this precious resource as we adapt to a warming climate, and our specialists – from the Department of Energy and USAID – led lively discussions and capacity exchanges. In coordination with the Ministry of Environment, the National Wastewater Utility (ONAS), the Ministry of Agriculture, and others, these technical specialists were able to see first-hand some of the challenges and opportunities on how to ramp up water recycling in Tunisia. This included visits to wastewater facilities, flourishing irrigated farms that use treated and recycled water to great success, and speaking with stakeholders across five different Ministries and three groups of advanced researchers.
