SA Cheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, membre du Conseil sup\u00e9rieur des \u00c9mirats arabes unis et souverain de Charjah, a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 en cadeau un manuscrit historique original et rare \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Catholique du Sacr\u00e9-C\u0153ur \u00e0 Milan, Italie, en pr\u00e9sence de son \u00e9pouse, SA Cheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Pr\u00e9sidente du Conseil supr\u00eame des affaires familiales (SCFA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Datant du 14 ao\u00fbt 1624, le manuscrit comprend un d\u00e9cret papal r\u00e9dig\u00e9 par le pape Urbain VIII et scell\u00e9 en l’\u00e9glise de Santa Maria Maggiore \u00e0 Rome. Son Altesse a \u00e9galement offert \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 son livre \u00ab Bulle Pontificale \u00bb, en arabe et en anglais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans son discours, le souverain de Charjah a exprim\u00e9 sa reconnaissance et sa gratitude \u00e0 la rectrice et membres de la facult\u00e9 de l’Universit\u00e9 Catholique du Sacr\u00e9-C\u0153ur de Milan pour leur accueil chaleureux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Son Altesse a indiqu\u00e9 que le manuscrit qu’il a offert \u00e0 l’universit\u00e9 et datant du 14 ao\u00fbt 1624, est un d\u00e9cret papal r\u00e9dig\u00e9 par le pape Urbain VIII et scell\u00e9 dans l’\u00e9glise de Santa Maria Maggiore dans le but de rassembler une aide financi\u00e8re pour la flotte portugaise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

S\u2019exprimant sur le conflit entre les Portugais et les Anglais \u00e0 Ormuz, Son Altesse le souverain de Charjah a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab En 1622, les forces anglaises et perses ont expuls\u00e9 les Portugais d’Ormuz \u00e0 l’entr\u00e9e du golfe Persique depuis la c\u00f4te perse, qu\u2019ils avaient occup\u00e9 pendant 115 ans. La mission des dirigeants portugais et des pr\u00eatres \u00e9tait d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 l’\u00e9vang\u00e9lisation, que ce soit \u00e0 Ormuz, en Perse ou en Inde. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Son Altesse a ajout\u00e9 : \u00ab \u00c0 la suite de l\u2019expulsion des Portugais d’Ormuz en Perse par les Anglais, le roi Philippe du Portugal a cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 reprendre Ormuz. Cependant, le gouvernement portugais ne disposait pas des ressources financi\u00e8res n\u00e9cessaires pour lancer une campagne militaire pour le reconqu\u00e9rir. Le roi Philippe a sollicit\u00e9 l\u2019aide du clerg\u00e9 pour rassembler ces fonds, ce qui a men\u00e9 le pape Urbain VIII \u00e0 publier un d\u00e9cret papal pour collecter les fonds n\u00e9cessaires aupr\u00e8s des \u00e9glises. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le souverain de Charjah a expliqu\u00e9 qu’il avait traduit et analys\u00e9 ce d\u00e9cret, tra\u00e7ant l\u2019origine des fonds r\u00e9unis aupr\u00e8s des \u00e9glises, et qui s’\u00e9levaient \u00e0 200 mille cruzados, la monnaie d’or portugaise officielle \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque. Ces fonds devaient financer la construction d\u2019une flotte pour reconqu\u00e9rir Ormuz en Inde. \u00ab La flotte n\u00e9cessitait un type particulier de grand navire capable de traverser les oc\u00e9ans, une t\u00e2che qui prendrait beaucoup de temps, et capable d\u2019effectuer un voyage en mer du Portugal \u00e0 l’Inde qui durerait plusieurs mois, \u00bb a-t-il ajout\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selon Son Altesse, le roi Philippe avait ordonn\u00e9 que les fonds soient envoy\u00e9s en Inde pour construire une flotte locale, compte tenu de la courte distance entre l’Inde et Ormuz. Il a de m\u00eame expliqu\u00e9 que tous les d\u00e9tails concernant la construction de la flotte et son armement sont mentionn\u00e9s dans son livre \u00ab Bulle Pontificale \u00bb, ainsi que le r\u00e9cit du p\u00e9riple de la flotte portugaise vers le site de la bataille d’Ormuz et sa d\u00e9faite face aux forces anglaises et n\u00e9erlandaises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
