Panorama of the European Film Returns for its 18th Edition from 27 November to 6 December

Maher badr

The Panorama of the European film, an annual showcase of award-winning European features, documentaries, and timeless classics, is set to return for its 18th edition from 27 November to 6 December 2025. This year’s screenings will take place at Zawya Cinema, Nile Cinema and Zamalek Cinema in Cairo, along with special screenings planned to take place outside the capital.

Launched in 2004 by Misr International Films and incorporated under Zawya Cinema in 2014, the Panorama of the European Film has since grown into one of Cairo’s most widely anticipated annual film events; bringing a uniquely bold selection of cinematic voices from Europe to Egyptian audiences each year.

In addition to screenings, the Panorama also hosts a variety of masterclasses, workshops, and discussions with participating filmmakers. Since the festival’s 14th edition, the accompanying Panorama Podcast, featuring discussions with Egyptian filmmakers’, has also offered film enthusiasts deeper insights into the festival’s selection, themes, and program highlights.

Over the years, the festival has also grown famous for its unique visual identity and award-winning posters. This year’s Panorama visual draws its inspiration directly from the craft of filmmaking itself: the design is based on the editor’s timeline, with its colorful spectrums representing the layered narratives woven together in cinema.

Further details on the full program schedule, guest filmmakers, and special events will be announced soon.

This project is funded by the European Union in Egypt in collaboration with EUNIC Egypt.
