Inaugurates New Scientific Office in Cairo to Support Healthcare
Astellas Pharma Egypt today inaugurated its new scientific office in Cairo, marking an important milestone in the company’s journey in the Egyptian market and reflecting its long-term commitment to the healthcare sector in Egypt.

The opening of the new office comes as part of Astellas Pharma’s commitment to strengthening its engagement with the Egyptian healthcare ecosystem and continuing to work closely with various stakeholders, contributing to addressing patients’ needs and supporting the continued development of the healthcare sector in Egypt.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Iwai Fumio, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Arab Republic of Egypt, alongside representatives of the Embassy of Japan and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), including Mr. Takaki Harashima, Second Secretary at the Embassy of Japan in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Mr. Shigeyo Nishizawa, Director General of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) – Cairo Office.

The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Ricardo Ogawa, President, International Markets at Astellas Pharma; Ms. Seyma Bahsi, Head of Turkey, Middle East and Africa (TMEA) at Astellas Pharma; and Ms. Sunny Lee, General Manager of Astellas Pharma Egypt, along with a number of representatives from the healthcare sector and medical community.

Ms. Sunny Lee, General Manager of Astellas Pharma Egypt, said that the opening of the new scientific office represents an important milestone in the company’s journey in Egypt and reflects its long-term commitment to the Egyptian market and the patients it serves.
She added that the new office strengthens Astellas Pharma’s engagement with various stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem and provides the company with an opportunity to deepen collaboration and contribute to the continued development of the healthcare system in Egypt.
She emphasized that Astellas Pharma believes that achieving meaningful progress in healthcare requires innovation, collaboration, and strong partnerships, noting the company’s aspiration to continue working closely with its partners in Egypt to help address unmet medical needs and create meaningful value for patients and society.

The event highlighted the longstanding relationship between Egypt and Japan and the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries across areas including healthcare, innovation, and economic development.
The event also featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by H.E.
